Twas brillig, and the hashy droves
Did whine and grumble in the wabe;
All soggy were the borogoves,
And hash-cash did outgrabe.

“Beware the hashy trail, my son!
The falsies that trap, the checks that catch!
Beware the Numbskull hare, and shun
The floomious Sonsosnatch!”

He took his vorpal horn in hand:
Long time the beery check he sought,
So rested he by the soaken tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Sonsosnatch, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! he blew and blew
The vorpal horn on flourery track!
He left the Sonsosnatch in dread
And went galumphing back.

Spied he then Numbskull hare
On bikey at the gaffling beck;
He quickly ran to the grobbling hare,
And scrottled its naggered neck

“And has thou lost the Sonsosnatch?
And scrottled the flumish Numskull hare!
Have framulous Boddingtons my beamish horn!”
The Whats-Off  did declare
