MINUTES OF COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 11th OCTOBER 1995

FINANCES

Sharnie reported that the carryover of funds for the New Year is ÂŁ879.21, after allowing for the few unpaid bills resulting from the 666 run weekend. This compares with the carryover from the previous year of ÂŁ746. This means the finances are slightly healthier than the stated objective of carrying about ÂŁ750 in the account to pay deposits etc. for forthcoming events. Full accounts available and to be published shortly.

Sharnie also reported the good news that she has convinced the bank we are not a business and as from 17th August we have no longer been paying a quarterly charge of ÂŁ8. Good news, but we are still not receiving interest and there seems no likelihood of this happening in the near future.

INSURANCE

The Hash is still insured for the forthcoming year and it was agreed that the current policy provides good cover and at ÂŁ153 per annum premium is well worth the outlay.

XMAS PARTY

Shaky has made a tentative booking for La Lombarda for 40 people for 16th December. The menu looks good with 4 choices and a cost of ÂŁ10. Shaky will go back and attempt to negotiate a deal for the provision of wine and it was suggested he should ask for a corkage charge and we could provide our own as another option. If he gets a decent deal Shaky will pay the deposit and we can work out the finances and set a ticket price.

NETHYBRIDGE

Hummingbird will contact Nethybridge to book a weekend along the usual lines during the first half of March.

Royal Flush volunteered to organise the food for Saturday night. She wants less than last year! , and dimensions of casserole dishes suitable for fitting the microwave will be publicised.

SKI HASHPEDITION

Easylife reported JC and FiFi are organising a week in France (La Plagne) from February. Any more details available from JC and FiFi (plumbing permitting).

OBAN WEEKEND

Little Shit reminded us all that the EH3 weekend to Oban is on 4th November and this will be publicised in the Hash Sheet.

INTERHASH

Aberdeen have been invited to set a run in Cyprus prior to the official start of Interhash. We meet the criteria of having personnel who have previously hashed on the island. It was agreed Olymprick could go ahead and organise this with full backing of committee with the aim of publicising the good name of AH3.

ABERDEEN 700th

AH3 700th run will be about 20th May 1996. This is just prior to Interhash. It was agreed we would organise a relatively low key locally oriented weekend along the lines of the 666. Watch this space!

JOINT ABERDEEN ELGIN RUN

It was agreed this was an event we wanted to continue. It was disappointing there had been such a poor Aberdeen turnout last year. Shaky will contact Elgin to try and set a date and it was agreed Aberdeen should show some solidarity and volunteer to set the run. Little Shit volunteered to be the hare.

There was a lot of discussion about the pros and cons of an evening in Elgin or a day trip. The consensus was that a day trip was a better idea, but if there is any strong feeling either way, LET THE MISMANAGEMENT KNOW.

JOCK HASH

Again, it was agreed Jock Hash was a good event. It was also agreed that the one day away format was good and a unique part of the Jock Hash. Olymprick is to sound out the other Scottish hashes and see where this event stands, then report back to the committee.

HALLOWEEN AND GUY FAWKES

Attempts to organise a traditional Halloween party were shelved due to short notice and too many potential conflicts. 5th November is also a Sunday, but it was agreed correctly that the timing of the Sunday run was sacrosanct. If anyone wants to hash round the firework displays in the evening then feel free to come forward and volunteer to be a hare.

Perhaps ASS HASH will have a Halloween fancy dress run on 2nd November.

BURNS SUPPER

Easylife will host an event on 20th January, so get yourselves organised for this, one of the major hash events of the year. Congrats to Easylife on his magnanimity.

LADIES NIGHT

There was unanimous approval of the idea of organising a ladies night during November where a representative of the Ann Summers organisation would be invited to model her wares. Any commission made would be used to provide suitable toys for use as prizes at the Xmas Party.

The Body, Royal Flush and Hummingbird are to sort this out, and everyone is invited as long as you are dressed as a woman. More details to follow shortly, so girls, get your batteries charged up and ready.

XMAS EVE AND HOGMANY

Are both on Sundays so there will be a regular run? GM to follow this up with Drill Bit and Olymprick.

Royal Flush and The Body are investigating venues for a Hogmany party, so watch out for details.

I hope this is as good a record of the meeting as I think it is. Any corrections, comments, queries etc should be directed to our Patron, the Duke of Edinburgh as soon as possible.

On On , Joy Boy.
